Why contact validation is important

Loqate’s contact validation services will validate address, email or telephone information on a batch basis. Validating this information before planning a campaign can:

  • Protect your domain’s reputation with Internet Service Providers by reducing hard bounce emails
  • Reduce dialer costs
  • Improve database content by fixing simple errors
  • Increase response rates of campaigns
  • Ensure you meet Article 5 of the Data Protection Act 2018 “Personal data shall be accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date”.

We use a combination of datasets to ensure that your contact data is usable.

What are the different types of contact validation?

Landline Validation 

This is a live service that checks that a landline telephone number will connect and provides detail as to whether that number is live, dead or invalid. Numbers are checked in a batch environment and the service is compliant with the Communications Act 2003.

Landline to Location Validation 

This process will compare the area code of the supplied landline telephone number and the area code of the supplied postcode. A difference will indicate that either the supplied address/telephone information held by the client is out of date or that an alternative number has been supplied. 

Email Validation 

This email validation process checks the syntax of an email and also confirms if the domain is valid. Full level email verification is available via an automated plug-in to a GBG approved data partner. It’s important to be aware that approximately 70% of all email domains are catch-all, and therefore only around 30% of a client’s email addresses can be checked for full-deliverability.

Mobile Validation 

This is a live service that checks that a mobile telephone number will connect and receive calls and messages. It provides detail as to whether that number is live, dead or invalid and may also return the original and current network provider, the country where the mobile was registered and where it is currently located.
