Before you start, make sure you have a Loqate account. If you don’t already have one, you will need to sign up.
Set up a New Service
Log in to your Loqate account, add a new service, and select Shopify from the list of supported platforms.
Within the text box, paste the provided Loqate code. If using Shopify Plus, create a static resource, (liquid.js file), paste in the provided code and import into the checkout page.
Enable the New Service
Once the provided code has been added to your Shopify store, we need to set up some field mappings on your account. This can be done automatically. Go back to the Loqate page where you copied the code, and click the Generate My Mappings button.
Test the Service
To test the service, navigate to your Shopify checkout and start typing an address. Loqate will suggest options as you type. Select the address you were looking for, and ensure the Shopify checkout address fields are populated as expected.
How to disable Google Address Auto-Complete for Shopify Stores
Shopify recently announced that it would be adding Google Auto-Complete as the address verification service. If you want to stay with Loqate, please log into your Shopify admin portal and disable Google Autocomplete to ensure Loqate remains your primary address verification service.
Here are three simple steps to disable Google’s auto-complete feature within your Shopify checkout.
1. Login to your Shopify Admin portal and click “Settings” located on the bottom left of the page
2. From the Settings menu, click “Checkout – Customize your online checkout process”
3. Uncheck “Enable Address Autocompletion”
